"The Minister Lead Me Astray"       Audio   MP3   Download

Is the complaint, "The minister lead me astray" justified?

Take a moment to think about this one for a moment.  If a minister DID lead someone astray, how did he do it?  If a minister led someone astray, it is a given he lied and/or brought the person into false doctrine.  How can one, active and fervent in the Salvation Process, by definition, be led astray?  It is virtually impossible.  Someone in the Salvation Process is constantly immersed in the Word of God.  This individual has the Holy Spirit in them.  The Holy Spirit is the most powerful force in the Universe.  A firstfruit is invoking this power on a daily basis and is in close contact with God, the Father through prayer and meditation.

This complaint almost exclusively is uttered by someone falling from the Salvation Process and/or holding great bitterness against God, a minister or the church.

The Bible is full of admonitions on avoiding anyone who would lead you astray.  Notice one such verse:

If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. –1 Tim 6:3-5

Who is this and verses like it directed to?  Who knows:

1] what wholesome words are?
2] the words of Jesus Christ?
3] Godly doctrine?
4] how to recognize pride?
5] what strifes of words are?
6] how envy and strife manifest themselves?
7] what a railing is?
8] what evil surmisings and perverse disputings are?
9] how to recognize one destitute of the truth?
10] when someone is holding to the idea that gain is godliness?

Answer:  One full of the Holy Spirit and fully immersed in the Word of God.

See our study on Matthew 7:15-20 concerning true and false ministers.  See menu items 33 or 40.

In the final analysis this complaint of some minister having led someone astray is not valid.  Firstfruits cannot blame their failure of not attaining the Kingdom on ANY minister, be he true or false.  Every member of God's church is responsible for his or her own Salvation and staying in the Salvation Process to the end.
