General Topics and
Scriptures:
Produced by Faith:
Ephesians 3:12 In whom
we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of
him.
2 Timothy 1:12 For the
which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am
not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am
persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have
committed unto him against that day.
Hebrews 10:22 Let us
draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith,
having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our
bodies washed with pure water.
Made full by hope:
Hebrews 6:11, 19 And we
desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to
the full assurance of hope unto the end. Which hope we have
as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which
entereth into that within the veil;
Confirmed by love:
1 John 3:14, 19 We know
that we have passed from death unto life, because we love
the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in
death. And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and
shall assure our hearts before him.
1 John 4:18 There is no
fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because
fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in
love.
Is the effect of righteousness:
Isaiah 32:17 And the
work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of
righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Is abundant in understanding the
gospel:
Colossians 2:2 That
their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in
love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of
understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God,
and of the Father, and of Christ.
1 Thessalonians 1:5 For
our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in
power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye
know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.
Saints Privileged to Have
Of their election:
Psalms 4:3 But know that
the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the
LORD will hear when I call unto him.
1 Thessalonians 1:4
Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God.
Their redemption:
Job 19:25 For I know
that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the
latter day upon the earth:
Their adoption:
Romans 8:16 The Spirit
itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the
children of God:
1 John 3:2 Beloved, now
are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we
shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall
be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
Their salvation:
Isaiah 12:2 Behold, God
is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the
LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become
my salvation.
Eternal life:
1 John 5:13 These things
have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son
of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that
ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
The unalienable love of God:
Romans 8:38-39 For I am
persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor
principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things
to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature,
shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is
in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Union with God and Christ:
1 Corinthians 6:15 Know
ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I
then take the members of Christ, and make them the members
of an harlot? God forbid.
2 Corinthians 13:5
Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your
own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus
Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
Ephesians 5:30 For we
are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
1 John 2:5 But whoso
keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God
perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
1 John 4:13 Hereby know
we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given
us of his Spirit.
Peace with God by Christ:
Romans 5:1 Therefore
being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our
Lord Jesus Christ:
Preservation:
Psalms 3:6, 8 I will not
be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set
themselves against me round about. Salvation belongeth unto
the LORD: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.
Psalms 27:3-5 Though an
host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear:
though war should rise against me, in this will I be
confident. One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I
seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all
the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and
to enquire in his temple. For in the time of trouble he
shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his
tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.
Psalms 46:1-3 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in
trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be
removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst
of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled,
though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
Answer to prayer:
1 John 3:22 And
whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his
commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his
sight.
1 John 5:14-15 And this
is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any
thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know
that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the
petitions that we desired of him.
Comfort in affliction:
Psalms 73:26 My flesh
and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart,
and my portion for ever.
Luke 4:18 The Spirit of
the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach
the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the
brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and
recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them
that are bruised.
2 Corinthians 4:8-18
8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are
perplexed, but not in despair;
9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not
destroyed;
10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord
Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in
our body.
11 For we which live are alway delivered unto death for
Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made
manifest in our mortal flesh.
12 So then death worketh in us, but life in you.
13 We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is
written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also
believe, and therefore speak;
14 Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall
raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.
15 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant
grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the
glory of God.
16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man
perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment,
worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of
glory;
18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at
the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen
are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Continuance in grace:
Philippians 1:8 For God
is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels
of Jesus Christ.
A support in death:
Psalms 23:4 Yea, though
I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will
fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff
they comfort me.
A glorious resurrection:
Job 19:26 And though
after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall
I see God:
Psalms 17:15 As for me,
I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be
satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.
Philippians 3:21 Who
shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like
unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he
is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
A Kingdom
Hebrews 12:28 Wherefore
we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have
grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence
and godly fear:
Revelation 5:10 And hast
made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign
on the earth.
A Crown
2 Timothy 4:7-8 I have
fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept
the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of
righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall
give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them
also that love his appearing.
James 1:12 Blessed is
the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he
shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath
promised to them that love him.
Saints give diligence to attain:
2 Peter 1:10-11
Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your
calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye
shall never fall: For so an entrance shall be ministered
unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord
and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Strive to maintain:
Hebrews 3:14, 18 For we
are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of
our confidence stedfast unto the end. And to whom sware he
that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that
believed not?
Confident hope in God restores:
Psalms 42:11 Why art
thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted
within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who
is the health of my countenance, and my God.
