throne of Israel.
2 Kings 20:3 I beseech
thee, O LORD, remember now how I have walked before thee in
truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is
good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.

with:
1 Corinthians 5:8
Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven,
neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with
the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
Saints should esteem, as
inestimable:
Proverbs 23:23 Buy the
truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and
understanding.
Saints should love:
Zechariah 8:19 Thus
saith the LORD of hosts; The fast of the fourth month, and
the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the
fast of the tenth, shall be to the house of Judah joy and
gladness, and cheerful feasts; therefore love the truth and
peace.
Saints should rejoice in:
1 Corinthians 13:6
Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
Saints should speak it to one
another:
Zechariah 8:16 These are
the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the truth to
his neighbour; execute the judgment of truth and peace in
your gates:
Ephesians 4:25 Wherefore
putting away lying, speak every man truth with his
neighbour: for we are members one of another.
Saints should execute judgment with
it:
Zechariah 8:16 These are
the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the truth to
his neighbour; execute the judgment of truth and peace in
your gates:

Saints should write it upon the
tables of the heart:

mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck;
write them upon the table of thine heart:
Commentary on Proverbs
3:3
bind them about thy neck
- as chains for ornament: not mercy and truth, just
before mentioned, as may seem at first sight; but
the law and commandments of wisdom, Proverbs 3:1; or
the doctrines and ordinances of Christ; see Proverbs
1:8; reckon it as your greatest honour, glory, and
beauty, that you steadfastly adhere to these things;
nothing makes a believer look more lovely in
conversation than a close regard to the truths of
Christ, and a constant walking in his ordinances;
-----Proverbs 1:8
My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and
forsake not the law of thy mother:
write them upon the table
of thine heart - do not forget them, keep
them in memory, and always retain a hearty affection
for them; it is the Spirit's work to write them in
the heart; and when they are there written, it is
the work of saints, under a divine influence, to
copy them over in life, and to show by their conduct
and behaviour that they are written there; see
Jeremiah 31:33. The allusion, in both phrases, is to
the directions given about the law of Moses,
Deuteronomy 6:8; and to the writing of his law on
tables of stone: and it was usual with the ancients,
in later times, to write on tables of wood; Solomon's
laws were written on tables of wood (h); and such
were the "tabellae et pugillares" of the Romans,
made of box, beech, and other sorts of wood, covered
with wax, on which they wrote;
-----Jeremiah 31:33
But this shall be the covenant that I will
make with the house of Israel; After those days,
saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward
parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be
their God, and they shall be my people.
-----Deuteronomy 6:8
And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine
hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine
eyes.

The fruit of the spirit is in
it:
Ephesians 5:9 (For the
fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and
truth;)
Ministers should speak it:
2 Corinthians 12:6 For
though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I
will say the truth: but now I forbear, lest any man should
think of me above that which he seeth me to be, or that he
heareth of me.
Galatians 4:16 Am I
therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?
Ministers should teach in it:
1 Timothy 2:7 Whereunto
I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth
in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith
and verity.
Ministers should approve themselves
by it:
2 Corinthians 6:7-8 By
the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of
righteousness on the right hand and on the left, By honour
and dishonour, by evil report and good report: as deceivers,
and yet true;
Magistrates should be men of:
Exodus 18:21 Moreover
thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as
fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such
over them, to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of
hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens:
Kings are preserved by it:
Proverbs 20:28 Mercy and
truth preserve the king: and his throne is upholden by
mercy.
They who speak it show forth
righteousness:
Proverbs 12:17 He that
speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false
witness deceit.
They who speak it are a delight of
God:
Proverbs 12:22 Lying
lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly
are his delight.
The wicked destitute of it:
Hosea 4:1 Hear the word
of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a
controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there
is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.
The wicked speak it not:
Jeremiah 9:5 And they
will deceive every one his neighbour, and will not speak the
truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies, and
weary themselves to commit iniquity.
The wicked uphold it not:
Isaiah 59:14-15 And
judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar
off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot
enter. Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil
maketh himself a prey: and the LORD saw it, and it
displeased him that there was no judgment.
The wicked plead not for it:
Isaiah 59:4 None calleth
for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in
vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring
forth iniquity.
The wicked are not valiant for it:
Jeremiah 9:3 And they
bend their tongues like their bow for lies: but they are not
valiant for the truth upon the earth; for they proceed from
evil to evil, and they know not me, saith the LORD.
The wicked punished for want of it:
Jeremiah 9:5, 9 And they
will deceive every one his neighbour, and will not speak the
truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies, and
weary themselves to commit iniquity.
9 Shall I not visit them for these things?
saith the LORD: shall not my soul be avenged on such a
nation as this?
Hosea 4:1, 3 Hear the
word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a
controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there
is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land. 3
Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth
therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and
with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also
shall be taken away.
The wicked turn away from it:
2 Timothy 4:4 And they
shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be
turned unto fables.
The wicked resist it:
2 Timothy 3:8 Now as
Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist
the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the
faith.
The wicked are destitute of it:
1 Timothy 6:5 Perverse
disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the
truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw
thyself.
It is denied by the self-righteous:
1 John 1:10 If we say
that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is
not in us.
It is denied by the unbelievers:
1 John 5:10 He that
believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he
that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he
believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
It is denied by the devil:
Genesis 3:4-5 And the
serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For
God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes
shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and
evil.
The devil is devoid of it:
John 8:44 Ye are of your
father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do.
He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the
truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a
lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the
father of it.
The gospel as truth came by Christ:
John1:17 For the law was
given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
It is in Christ:
1 Timothy 2:7 Whereunto
I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth
in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith
and verity.
John bare witness to:
John 5:33 Ye sent unto
John, and he bare witness unto the truth.
It is according to godliness:
Titus 1:1 Paul, a
servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to
the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth
which is after godliness;
It is sanctifying:
John 17:17, 19 Sanctify
them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
19 And for their sakes I
sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through
the truth.
It is purifying:
1 Peter 1:22 Seeing ye
have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the
Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love
one another with a pure heart fervently:
It is part of Christian armor:
Ephesians 6:14 Stand
therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and
having on the breastplate of righteousness;
It is revealed abundantly to
saints:
Jeremiah 33:6 Behold, I
will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them, and
will reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth.
It abides continually with saints:
2 John 2 For the truth's
sake, which dwelleth in us, and shall be with us for ever.
It should be acknowledged:
2 Timothy 2:25 In
meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God
peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging
of the truth;
It should be believed:
2 Thessalonians 2:12-13
That they all might be damned who believed not the truth,
but had pleasure in unrighteousness. But we are bound to
give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the
Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to
salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of
the truth:
It should be obeyed:
Romans 2:8 But unto them
that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey
unrighteousness, indignation and wrath.
Galatians 3:1 O foolish
Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey
the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been
evidently set forth, crucified among you?
It should be loved:
2 Thessalonians 2:10 And
with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that
perish; because they received not the love of the truth,
that they might be saved.
It should be manifested:
2 Corinthians 4:2 But
have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking
in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but
by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every
man's conscience in the sight of God.
It should be rightly divided:
2 Timothy 2:15 Study to
shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not
to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
The church is the pillar and ground
of it:
1 Timothy 3:15 But if I
tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to
behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of
the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
Is a shield and buckler to saints:
Psalms 91:4 He shall
cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou
trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
We should confide in it:

hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O LORD God
of truth.

eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before
the world began;

are thy former lovingkindnesses, which thou swarest unto
David in thy truth?
Pray for its manifestation to
ourselves:

then, O LORD God of Israel, let thy word be verified, which
thou hast spoken unto thy servant David.
Pray for its exhibition to others:
2 Samuel 2:6 And now the
LORD shew kindness and truth unto you: and I also will
requite you this kindness, because ye have done this thing.
Make it known to others:
Isaiah 38:19 The living,
the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day: the
father to the children shall make known thy truth.
Magnify it:
Psalms 71:22 I will also
praise thee with the psaltery, even thy truth, O my God:
unto thee will I sing with the harp, O thou Holy One of
Israel.
Psalms 138:2 I will
worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy
lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified
thy word above all thy name.
OF GOD:
Is one of His attributes:

the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are
judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and
right is he.
Isaiah 65:16 That he who
blesseth himself in the earth shall bless himself in the God
of truth; and he that sweareth in the earth shall swear by
the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten,
and because they are hid from mine eyes.
He keeps it forever:

heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which
keepeth truth for ever:

passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD
God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in
goodness and truth,
It is inviolable with God:
