| The purpose of this document is to simply explain how Chris
Cumming, a minister in the ICG organizes daily services at the Feast of
Tabernacles. It does not have, as its purpose, the encouragement, urging or
influencing of how you organize and run services at your Feast site. If you adopt our ideas, fine, but there is no obligation you do so.
Though we have a long tradition regarding how we conduct Sabbath and
Holy Day services, there is no established church procedure on how to
organize the day to day services at the Feast. How it is done at the
various Feast sites is the sole responsibility of the minister who is acting as
Feast elder for his assigned Feast site. At the Feast site, the minister, serving in the position of Feast Coordinator, is dealing with any number of ministers, local elders, deacons, credentialed speakers, song leaders, piano players, special music, announcement givers, other staff and members from ICG congregations all around the US and the World. The purpose of the Order of Service Card is to insure that all individuals serving today have the same information. The purpose of the card is to list who is serving today, what the hymns will be and information regarding the offertory on the Holy Days and Special Music throughout the Feast. I make up a goodly number of these cards before the Feast but do not fill in the various pieces of information until the day of services. Typically I show up at the meeting hall at 8 AM and prepare for the Bible Study at 9 AM and the services at 10 AM. One of the first duties I fulfill is to take a blank Order of Service Card and begin filling it out. The reason for this is that due to sickness, schedule changes or personal requests of the server, you may not actually know who will be serving until that morning. Most of the card will be filled out by the Song Leader as he chooses hymns and selects those who will give opening and closing prayers. There are two versions of the card: 1] One for the Holy Days. I make up about six of these prior to the Feast. 2] One for the non-Holy Days. I make up about fifteen of these prior to the Feast. Examples of both cards follow. You can make up a template for these cards in your own computer. For the lines labeled "Hymns", one puts the name of the hymn that will be sung. There is a line for the Title of the Sermon. The line for Special Music is for both the title of the piece and the person performing. All other lines are for the person serving in that position. Once this card is filled out, it is put on the lectern with a small piece of Scotch tape. Chose a location high on the incline of the lectern where all serving today will see it and where it will not easily be covered up by other items. The first card is for Holy Day services. |

| These examples show the service elements as used at Tahoe/Kings
Beach. We do not generally have split-sermons. If you
do, you will want to make a third version reflecting that situation. I make up these tables on my computer. I print them out on plain white paper. I cut them to size and tape them to 4x6 card stock. |

| Back of the Card I also make a small table for the back of these Order of Service cards. It is a simple two column, three row table for recording the date, the name of the Song Leader and a place for notes.

I usually get 5 or 6 of these on one sheet of paper. I print them out and cut them to size. I then tape them to the back of each Order of Service Card. Save the cards for your Feast records back home as each is a "diary" of what happened that day. |
